July 19, 2016 - Tuesday in Nauvoo

Happy birthday to our 18th grandchild, Faith!  We hope you had a wonderful day today, precious girl!  It was fun to sing to you over the phone and have your mom tell us you were dancing to the Granny and Grandpa version of the Happy Birthday song!  Then, later today, I was drooling over these pictures of Faith;

This is probably NOT the face I would choose....

Ahhh Birthday cake at its best!

Look at this precious little bunny girl - 1 year old today!

Grandpa Lasher must be behind one of these circles???
Mom and I were up for our morning walk around Nauvoo, early this morning.  After our morning devotional and prayers, we ventured out to temperatures in the low 70's and 100% humidity.  The best way to describe it was, it was a "wet coolness", as we made our way around the city.  I got some great photos along the way;

How does that thunder head cloud look to you??

The fast spreading water Lillies along the river

We had our site assignments at Browning Gun for me, and mom was at the Lyon Drug Store.  We were both kept busy as we both had a split shift.  We started at 8:45am and worked the first half of our shift until 12 noon.  That meant we could have lunch together back at our little cottage.  Then we closed out the second half of our day at our sites from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.

The clouds were threatening all afternoon and finally released a torrent of rain about 5:00pm.  That led up to cancelling our Sunset play outdoors.  Oh happy day!  Mom and I got to return home and relax for the balance of the evening!

Then we had these photos shared with us of Macie and her sisters.  Macie has a new set of wheels to help her get around the house a little quicker.  Do you think she had some help learning how to ride the classic set of wheels from Hayley or Mia??  Take a look;

Looks harmless enough, doesn't it?

With the proper headgear, this baby can do wheelies!

I see some great trainers in this picture!  And some beautiful trainers!!
I sure enjoyed working in the Browning Gun shop and having over 400 guests come in for a visit, today.  Johnathan Browning was a marvelous man.  Before he joined the Church he had such a passion for guns.  After he joined the Church, he still had passion for gun-making, but his new passion was the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

He taught his family well about the Restored Gospel and he lived the Gospel equally well throughout his life.  As I understand it, all of his descendants are still active and converted to the Gospel.  There is not a better testimony of a man and woman's faith than that of Johnathan and Elizabeth Browning.  It is such a treat to learn about the Saints who lived here during the Nauvoo years, and the histories of their posterity who have remained true and faithful to the Restored Gospel, that their ancestors embraced so many years ago....
