July 13, 2016 - Wednesday in Nauvoo

Here's to another rainy, humid and wonderful day in Nauvoo!  We were sure kept busy today!  We had our early morning devotional and prayers before we left for the weekly 7:30am training meeting.  However, the Guest Services, again, scheduled handcart treks during the meeting.  So mom attended the meeting and I attended to the scheduled trekkers.  Mom was assigned to the Family Living Center and I was at the Handcart Station with Elder Heslop.  We had eight groups scheduled and they came as families and friends ready to experience the handcarts.

The families were awesome today.  Every one of them came back from their trekking experience and wanted to go again.  We had small family groups and larger family groups come today.  Here are some action shots of the families having this marvelous experience of working together;

The one mile trek and this family was excited!

The Handcart Medals of completion!

All sizes of families come to have this wonderful experience!

The schedule mom had today at the Family Living Center was from 8:45am until 3:00pm.  I worked at the Handcart Station from 7:15am until 12:30pm.  I got home around 12:45pm and took a nice cool shower.  The humidity was rather high today!  I then enjoyed a short nap and then met with the Rendezvous Director and helped with a couple working on a new part in the play.

Mom and I then picked up our scheduled trek cards for tomorrow and found out we had nine groups scheduled starting at 7:30am.  We sure look forward to the opportunity to work together with these wonderful families.

We then met at 6:00pm for our Rendezvous pre show meeting and guess who we saw?  Sean and Karen's mother and father in law, (Karen's Parents), all the way from Fresno, California!  They came to see the show and visit the sites the balance of this week!  What a nice surprise to have them look us up!  Our plan is to see them tomorrow morning after their temple session.  They also had tickets for the Rendezvous Play tonight!  We have a great picture together;

And a few minutes later, we had Heidi and Ross Lusk and their son Jackson catch up with us at the Cultural Hall!  They just completed an all-night drive from Rigby to be here in Nauvoo for the Pageant, and to connect with us!  It was so good to see them!!  And wow!  Jackson has really gotten tall!  And, our first member of the Bishopric to come and see if we really are serving a mission!!!

As we were wrapping up the last show tonight, Sister Knapp caught mom and I back stage and snapped this picture.  The Editor and the Relief Society President ready to go back on stage for the final song...

For our last set of pictures, I bring you the growing and handsome Levi.  Take a look at these precious pictures!  These kinds of pictures are just snapshots of how wonderful our family reunion will be!

That is one big bundle of love on that love-sac!

Stop me if you have heard this one ... "this little piggy went to the..."

Sweet dreams precious Levi!

Bad dream.....Where's my Granny and Grandpa Lasher??
Aren't days like this wonderful?  Precious friends, and family, and pictures, and marvelous opportunities, to serve so many people on our mission here in Nauvoo!  It really doesn't get much better than this short of the family reunion coming in October!  That is our story and we are sticking with it!
