The Sabbath Day, today, was warmer and sunny and clear this morning, as we began our walk at 7:00am to the Stake Center. It was in the mid 40's with no wind and it was a refreshingly wonderful walk to Church. Our path to the Stake Center is probably less that half a mile. We stopped by the Visitor's Center and dropped off our lunch since we have the early shift from 11am to 2pm. We got to the Stake center at about 7:20am and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the morning.
We had our typical classes at the Visitor's center after the Sacrament. The numbers are now at the lowest level they will be at. All the 2015 released missionaries have now gone back home. I counted about 120 missionaries left in the mission for the Winter season. We start receiving the Spring and Summer missionaries in March 2016.
This afternoon was total relaxation after our shift. We came home and had breakfast for dinner and then enjoyed the afternoon together. This evening we had our district meeting at 7:15pm and got home at about 8:10pm. Mom made it to bed by 8:30pm!
Our meeting was focused on missionary work and how we are going about it. It is interesting and helpful to see how others are experiencing the missionary effort in their spheres of influence. Probably the most unique approach was when Elder and Sister Mamales went to the Aldi's grocery store in Burlington and a man offered to buy their groceries. They, in turn, bought the ladies groceries right behind them! It started a chain reaction of comments and expressions of awe and appreciation that the employees and the customers won't soon forget!
That's a nice approach to missionary work..... "can I buy your groceries today?" ...... Think about it!
I love it! It's what the world needs more of... Love and kindness. ❤ I love you both!!
