8 September 2018 - Saturday
Granny and Grandpa had a great day with our precious family, today! We were especially being prepared for the annual celebration of Grandparents Day, that falls on Grandpa Jack's birthday, tomorrow! There were lot's of fun activities throughout the day and I think we did a great job in wearing out the grandchildren! We started the day with a happy walk;

Kenzie was so excited to go on a walk with Grandpa! |
The temperatures were in the low 40's when we got up this morning. Mom and I had the assignment to work at the Visitors' Center from 10:00am until 2:00pm. That gave us more time this morning to make our favorite breakfast of pancakes, hash browns and eggs and topped the pancakes with peanut butter, honey and whipped cream! I am getting hungry for breakfast all over again!
With the extra two hours, this morning, I took the kids on a walk down to the beginning of Missionary Village for a picture. We walked the cattle guard, and had some fun chasing the rabbits, before I captured this shot in front of the entrance;

Great picture of Kenzie, Maddie, Landon and Cody |
So mom and I left for our assignment at 9:15am. Jared and Ali came to the Visitors' Center at 1:00pm to meet us for a tour, after they went to Independence Rock. It was perfect timing for us at the Visitors' Center. Mom took them around the area and they got a picture in front of the refurbished Sun Ranch sign!

The precious family photo! |
Mom and I then got off our shift at the Visitors' Center about 30 minutes after Ali and Jared took the kids to Martin's Cove. Once we were finished we took a Rover up into the handcart parking area and met them for the tour. Jared and I walked from the handcart parking area to the top of Martin's Cove, and Granny took Ali and the children on the Rover up the back way to the top.

The warm up to the trek to the Cove! |

Rovering sometimes beats trekking! |

Looks like the days activities were tiring for one princess! |
The trek, and tour, of the Cove, took about an hour and then we headed back to the Missionary Village. We were back at the trailer by around 4:00pm. I took Cody and Maddie and Landon over to the Pavilion and we played some shuffle-ball. The kids picked up on the techniques and did really good for their first time!

Everyone is settling down, now, as I am doing the Blog this evening. We all will get to enjoy our Church meetings together tomorrow. The kids are looking forward to the Primary class and we will get to have pot-luck together afterwards. This has been such a fun day! We sure love our family!
