5 September 2018 - Wednesday

5 September 2018 - Wednesday

It was another beautiful day here in Wyoming!  The morning started it all off with a very comfortable temperature of 50 degrees.  Our trailer was down to the low 60's, when we got up, so the heater came on for a few minutes while we prayed and read Scriptures together.  Then we took our three mile walk and enjoyed the quietness of the morning.

The morning breaks!
Today we were on the work crew and mom and I were separated for the morning assignment.  I got to complete the sign for the Sun Ranch, and mom went to the Cherry Creek campground to paint the floors.  I was excited to finish up this project that I have been working on this past few days.  The biggest delay was getting the correct numbers and screws.  But today I got them all together!

I pulled the letters and numbers off to paint the back board.

The finished product, except I see one of the "N's" is upside down
Want to hear a funny story about this sign?  The last few days have generated a few positive comments on the sign.  One senior sister missionary has had a difficult time this summer with her eye sight.  She had a reaction to a root canal she had done a few months before her mission that affected her eye sight.  She has not been able to see clearly this summer, and has had several doctor's appointments that have been less than encouraging.

Well, she walked by the sign, after I had taken the old letters and numbers off, and went into somewhat of a panic because she could only see the sign board and not the letters!  She didn't say anything to anyone until she walked by the sign this morning, after I installed the new lettering, and numbers.  The visual of seeing the numbers and letters caught her off-guard, and she thought she had just experienced a miracle with her eye sight being restored!  She is such a great missionary!

After lunch I joined mom, and others, at the Cherry Creek campground.  We finished painting the floors on the third of four rest rooms.  Mom and I both taped the dividing paint areas, and then laid the paint on nice and thick!

Taping the rest room prior to the floor coating being applied.
The smell of the paint was a welcomed change from the odor of a vault toilet!  The 36 rooms are all in the final stages of completion and the trekkers next year will be the huge benefactors.  There are about 100 benches in this campground that will now need to be addressed before the end of the season of missionary labor.  The push is on, and we are now less than two weeks away from the first wave of senior missionaries being released and heading for home.  This has been a great experience for these two senior missionaries and we are excited to finish our mission sprinting to the finish line!
