February 9, 2016 - Tuesday in Nauvoo

I think we might be winding down on the extreme cold weather here in Nauvoo.  However, today was a very cold day, with the wind chill dropping us down to near negative numbers.  We could not take our walk this morning, and we could not walk to the site assignment at the Visitors Center, but it looks pretty good as we finish off this week and go into next week with numbers of mid 40 degree temperatures.  I can handle that!

Our morning devotional and prayers were inspiring, and we had our workout this morning before we left for our assignment.  We drove to the Visitors Center and got things opened up by 8:45am.  It was a very quiet morning with just four visitors, but we were happy to see them.  There were also a few calls from groups coming this summer and getting their schedules set.

It won't be long until we are in the middle of the busy time of the 2016 year.  Our summer programs are set to begin May 28th.  That is the Saturday of the Memorial Day weekend.  Our Emma Hale cast will perform the first Sunset program, of the season, on that day, and we are scheduled to be the last cast to perform in August.

Mom and I got back to the house at 1:30pm, and enjoyed a very quiet afternoon.  We attended the 6:00pm temple session on this very cold afternoon.  And for the first time in our married life, we were the witness couple for the sixth consecutive time.  What a tender mercy and privilege for us!  We got home just a little past 8:15pm.

We got word that Ali and Jared made good time on their trip to Washington.  They left right after work today and made it to Boise by 8:00pm our time, and probably 7:00pm their time.  They will drive the rest of the way tomorrow.  We also heard that our Macie had her 6 month checkup.  It is amazing that we have missed so much of these precious grand-children's lives so far!  We love them and we miss our precious family!  We love representing them and our Rigby 10th Ward back home.  It is such a blessing to be here, and we are so grateful for this opportunity to serve this mission together!
