As the saying goes, "all good things must come to an end". But that is not so! All good things that we are blessed with just keep getting better! We had a wonderful visit with Bob and Mary and Bobby and Jacob and Anna and Johnny and Faith and Adam! It was so much fun to finally meet Adam and get him to smile for us! And, it was equally fun to rough up those precious grandchildren! Thank you to the Lasher Family, for their sacrifice to travel over 12 hours to be here, and then to return back to your home in Rexburg! By the way, Bobby, the Pioneer League ball is right here with me!
Mom and I left for the Homestead at a little before 9:00am this morning. We have the opportunity to pick up the Sacrament programs, each Sunday, and hand them out before the meeting. (We kind of just volunteered for this responsibility when the programs arrived a few minutes before the meetings began).
In addition, there are some Sunday's where we can help, with other things related to the Sunday meetings. Today was an especially sweet day for me because Bob and I got to bless the Sacrament together. I think this is the first time we have been able to do this! I have arranged for fathers and sons and brothers and grandsons to participate in this sacred ordinance together, but this was a first for me, and I loved it!
Mom brought her famous salad to share at the missionary pot luck after the Church meetings today, and the Lasher family was ready for the feast. However, when mom checked out the seating arrangements in the Barn, she discovered that there was no more room available for us. That worked out just fine as we got back to the trailer, with the Lasher family, and had lunch there, and a few more minutes of family time together. In fact, the grandchildren even had a few more minutes to say good-bye to some rabbit friends;
Probably the safest place for those rabbits under the wood pile! |
The visit together was invigorating for mom and me. Although it is tough to say our good-byes, we know that we are that much closer to being back home and together again. Our service here in the mission field will be endured well to the appointed time where we will return back home to our family and friends and the daily routines of life. We continue to count the many blessings we have received from being here. It will come to an end all too soon, yet it is still hard to stand and wave our good-byes to our precious loved ones!

Drive home safe precious family! We love you! |
Mom and I are truly blessed to be a part of this precious family. We get to serve this mission and testify of the reality of this marvelous Gospel plan. Every day we see the blessings that are given to each of us, as we serve Him, and share the messages of the restoration. What a privilege it was to serve in Carthage and Nauvoo, and now here in the Wyoming Mormon Trail Mission! The history that we have experienced, first hand, is absolutely price-less. Two convert senior missionaries having these experiences together can only bless our family and friends, even more, when we return back home!
We love you and we thank you for sharing your time in reading the blog and sharing your comments! I look forward to your comments, every morning, and I know that the Lord had given us this opportunity to serve Him, and receive these wonderful blessings!
I'm so glad they got to come! ๐ What is so awesome about this glorious gospel of Jesus Christ that you get to testify about each day and see the fruits of, is that all good things don't have to come to an end because of Jesus! And that we get to experience the good because of Him! ❤️ I'm so grateful for Jesus! And I'm so grateful for you both willingly sacrificing so much for your precious family!! We love you so much!! ❣️❣️
