17 August 2018 - Friday
It was so nice to wake up this morning to the Lasher family sleeping here in the living room! The boys were in the chairs, and on the couch. The girls were in the middle bedroom. They were awake when Granny and I came out for breakfast. We were assigned to the Visitors' Center this morning with our shift beginning at 8:00am. Both Bobby and Jacob came with Granny and I to work the Visitors' Center, and to attend the correlation meeting.

It was wonderful to have the extra help this morning. Our assignment lasted until 1:00pm. The visitors were coming steady into the center by 9:00am and kept coming all morning long. The boys helped me with some of the visitors, and also helped Granny.

There was an overcast over the Homestead this morning |
We had a busy morning with a nice variety of guests coming in. Granny and I were joined by another senior couple at 9:00am and then another senior couple at 10:00pm. We all stayed very busy up until about 12:30pm.
|
Anna came with the rest of the family at around 11:00am |
Mom was able to take Bob and Mary, and the kids over to the Trek Center to watch the two videos we show the trekkers. I was involved in several groups, while she was gone, and it gave the other senior missionaries an opportunity to get involved with the steady flow of guests.

Granny and Grandpa are sure enjoying our newest grandson! |
After our shift ended at the Visitors' Center, we came back to the trailer to visit, and enjoy, lunch together. Then, about 4:00pm, Bob and Mary and Adam and Granny drove back to the Homestead to give Bob and Mary another opportunity to walk up into the Martin's Cove area. Mom was able to secure another Rover and took them up to the back entrance to minimize the walk and maximize the quiet and peaceful experience of being in Martin's Cove.
I was able to spend some time with Bobby, Jacob, Anna, Johnny and Faith while Bob and Mary went back to Martin's Cove with Granny. We all met back up with them, and with Granny, for a barbecue at 6:00pm this evening. It is an annual gathering where the mission invited the community to come and have dinner with us. The missionaries all had an opportunity to interact with the community where we had about 20 community members from Alcova and Muddy Gap come and join us for dinner!

The dinner was very nice, and we enjoyed being with our precious family. We also welcomed the new Ranch Cowboy and his family. This was their first activity with the missionaries, and the community, tonight. We left about 6:45pm, and on the way home I caught the magnificent sunset in progress;

We had some additional family time, tonight, with Scripture reading and prayers together. The visit has been wonderful, and we are all on board for a trip to Casper tomorrow and lunch at the Pizza Ranch! I told the grandchildren that if they were asleep by 9:00pm tonight, they could walk with me tomorrow morning. So far two boys are sound asleep!
