11 June 2018 - Monday

After a marvelous reunion with some of our precious family members, mom and I were grateful for a hard days work!  We had the privilege of cleaning some of the rest rooms for the trekkers this week.  We established a routine to clean each rest room, and to power wash them, and to power wash the bridge rails that are sooooo popular among our mission flying friends.  Here is a picture of our cleaning truck, "Wilma", and an action shot of the two best rest room cleaners available here in the mission field today;

Look at this muscle truck!

Two happy senior missionaries :plunging" into their assignment!
Now that muscle truck we call "Wilma", carries 300 gallons of clear water, and has a power sprayer attached.  It is a four wheel drive truck and it sounds like the engine is about to fall out.  However, when we started our work at 6:00am this morning, it started right up for me.  Then, I was able to also get the generator started for the power washer!  Will miracles ever cease?

Here is our routine for the day; we drove the front trail to the river crossing bridge and began the power washing of the bridge rails.  We then proceeded to the river crossing statues and power washed them.  Our next stop was the handcart parking rest rooms where we swept them, sanitized them and then pressure washed them, swept out the water and then refilled the paper and the hand sanitizers.

Then we repeated the bridge power washing at the Veil Bridge.  After which we repeated the rest room procedures at the river crossing rest rooms, and then repeated the process again at the rest rooms at the Cherry Creek Campground.  We started at 6:00am and got back home around 1:30pm. We were both wiped out and ready for some rest!

But we had some work to do around the trailer.  We both kept looking around for a grandchild that may have been left behind, that I could rough up, and that we could both hug and kiss!  The visits from our precious family and friends are priceless!  And your comments and text messages are so uplifting!  We got to hear Levi's "Happy Birthday" song three times as Levi celebrated his 2nd birthday yesterday.  I wanted some of his cake, but he seemed to only want to keep blowing out the candles!

And Adam already has his eye on the temple!  What great pictures and notes and comments we are getting!  They give Granny and Grandpa such a lift!  We love serving here in the Wyoming Mormon Trail Mission!  The only way our family and friends will ever fully know the incredible experiences we are having is to come and visit with us!

But be careful!  If you are retired, you may want to enlist with us!  Thank you for joining us tonight!
