Mom and I had a marvelous visit with, our wonderful next door neighbors in Rigby and our friends, the Grattons. We were able to enjoy two plays, Rendezvous and Sunset By the Mississippi, with them. And this morning I had the privilege of taking them on a tour of Carthage. They were then ready to continue their vacation as they were heading back to Nauvoo and then off to Missouri to visit family. We are grateful they took the time to come and see us and that we had the big house to share!

It was a slow day at the Visitors center today. Mom and I had the closing shift and we got there by 12 noon. It was so quiet that I sent the Prices, Hansen's and Heningers home early to have a mealtime together before their evening plays. It proved to be a great move and hopefully they took full advantage of the time off after such a busy July!
I also cut the young single sisters missionaries loose at 6:00pm so they could join all the other young single sister missionaries in Nauvoo and enjoy the Sunset Play tonight at 7:00pm. They have never seen the play so it was a real treat to be able to send them off early.
On my last tour I took a family through that had been enjoying a Church History tour together. I found out that their oldest son has received his mission call to Lithuanian. He leaves for the MTC in October so this is an especially important time for them. What a privilege it was to give them the tour and presentation about Carthage and the significance of Joseph Smith sealing his testimony here. It is tours with families like this that I will miss the most when we transfer back to Nauvoo.
We had the such a wonderful time. We loved the spirit of the missionaries everywhere we went. Grateful for you two especially. Thank you for, sharing your time, talent, testimonies & home with us. We love you! You are doing a great work!
