August 10, 2015 - Monday in Carthage

It has been a busy day today!  Mom and I were up at little later than usual for our morning devotional and prayers.  We got home from the Zone Conference later than we wanted last night and paid the price in sleep time!  We will not miss the long drives from Carthage to Nauvoo and back for sure!  We make up to 10 trips each week to Nauvoo and back....

We adjusted the work hours at the Visitor's Center and we now work just 6.5 hours per shift.  I may adjust those hours again because we really don't need to be there that long any more.  But, we did have a steady flow of visitors today and mom and I both had two tour groups that we led through the jail.

In the second group we joined together to take a surprise guest from Rigby!  It was a wonderful opportunity to see Rhonda Price come in the front door!  She is a dear friend from Rigby and was mom's Visiting Teacher.  We had just told Ali and Josie to say hello to her next time they see her.  Well, we saw her first!

Our friend from Rigby - Sister Price right next to Elder Lasher
Sister Price came with a wonderful lady, who used to live in Rigby, and she was her traveling companion as they were driving through to Rigby.  It was great to see her and she has several special delivery hugs to share in the Sandstone neighborhood!  I got to give Sister Price the tour with about six other visitors.  The tour sizes are coming way down and we can take a little more time with each group.  I like it so much better this way!

Mom and I were off at 3:30pm this afternoon and we came home for dinner and a nap before Rendezvous tonight.  We were surprised that we had two shows tonight!  The second show was about half full and that put us home just a little before 10:00pm.  Much to late for mom, and it put me behind at least an hour tonight!

Oh well, is was fun to be with our cast tonight.  There are missionaries in our cast who are leaving and/or preparing to leave by September, so we are enjoying the final weeks with them.  I can't help but look forward to coming home and holding those younger grandchildren and roughing up the older ones!

Have a great evening and thank you for joining me tonight!

  2. I'm glad you get to see so many people you know! I saw the Bryner's the other day and they were asking how you were and they said they were going to try and make it out there also!
