May 12, 2016 - Thursday in Nauvoo

We are nearing the end of another week here in Nauvoo.  Today we had our assignment to work in the gardens.  When we arrived at the FM facility, we found out we were heading to Carthage to replace the Tulips we took out last week, and plant the summer flowers.  We had a great day in that assignment and, boy, was I tired and sore!  Take a look at some of our work pictures;

Mom and I planted this area in front of the jail all by ourselves!

More plants to be set in the gardens
This was an amazingly organized planting.  Over 5,000 plants were prepared for the gardens and the planter tubs.  And what a variety of plants!  Among the huge variety of plants, there are 476 different Coleus plants in this garden!  And I think Richard knows each one of them personally!  Mom and I worked from 7:00am until 3:30pm and we were tired and sore!  But we got the job done!  Those Grandpa knees are not quite the same as little Bobby's knees were!

It was a great day that began with our morning devotional and prayers.  We were able to work out at home for a few short minutes, before we left for our work assignment.  However, we needed to report to the FM site by 7:00am for instructions and prayer together with many of the dozens of FM assigned workers.

When we got home this afternoon, we both took nice hot showers to relieve some of the aches and pains.  Then I took a short. and very much needed, 20 minute nap... And our last assignment tonight was the Rendezvous Play at 7:00pm.  Mom and I had our leading roles, and we had an audience of about 80 guests.

And they were a great audience, with lots of clapping and laughing.  It is amazing how that show invigorates me!  For an hour, I did not feel the achy knees, or back, or shoulders!  Now I'm ready for bed!
