October 21, 2015 - Wednesday in Nauvoo

Wednesday's are becoming one of our favorite days!  We had our weekly training meeting this morning and then we attended the 9:00am temple session where we were privileged to serve as the witness couple.  This was our 27th visit since we arrived here in late February 2015.  The temple is such a wonderful place to think and ponder and evaluate how things are going in our lives.  I went a step further today and took our "ponderizing" Scriptures with me in my pocket, and reviewed them while waiting for the session to begin.

I was awake bright and early and ready to begin our day this morning.  Even though we did not have time to take our morning walk or go through our exercise routines, I was still ready to get up at 5:00am and get the day started.  We got to our training meeting at 7:10am and it began at 7:30am...  Those that know me......

This was also our day for grocery shopping and laundry and house cleaning.  We drove along the Mississippi River to Keokuk and look at these pictures we captured;

The Mississippi River is to my left.

You just need to see the Fall colors in person!
Right in front of our little house on Hotchkiss and Partridge!

The trees come alive in the Fall!
We had a nice and relaxing afternoon at home before Rendezvous.  We got to talk to some family members and hear from some of our grandchildren.  Oh how we love these little text messages and/or love notes from our family members!

Mom's father had another hernia surgery yesterday, and had a tough time his first night at home.  Mom's sister Julie is there with him until Saturday, and then mom's brother Steve will come Saturday for about 5 days.  We are on alert if he needs additional help.

We are so grateful for the Gospel in our lives and the impact that "ponderizing" is having on our family!  Here are the Scriptures mom and I have selected for this week;

Mosiah 2:41 (Ma)

41 And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.

2 Nephi 25:26 (Pa)

26 And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.

This exercise has been such a benefit to me as I focus my reading and effort to better understand how these particular Scriptures affect my life.  We change our "ponderizing" Scriptures every Sunday and it has been a great blessing for us!

Thank you for checking in with us tonight!  Rendezvous went really well tonight as we had our new director make her debut.  It has been a great learning curve for me, as well, in the "theater stage" part of our mission.  Actually, I think I like this new way to communicate principles of the Gospel!  Don't let that get around....
