October 13, 2015 - Tuesday in Nauvoo

Our site assignment took us to the Nauvoo Visitors Center for the late shift of 1:00pm to 6:00pm.  That is always a fun shift and we are sure enjoying the contacts and the opportunities to meet people from all over the world!  I met a man from Hungary this afternoon who is here in the United States on business.  Great accent and great English!

Mom and I also got the assignment to head up the Nauvoo Stake missionary Thanksgiving dinner that has been held and sponsored by the Illinois, Nauvoo mission for the second year now.  The Nauvoo Stake doesn't want the responsibility to head this up for their missionary efforts so they ask the full time senior missionaries to do all the work.  Hey, it is a missionary effort and we love big dinners!  Anyone remember the 500 meals on wheels in the Creekside Ward??

I have gotten the approval that if a part member family or non member family comes to the dinner, they will have to be accompanied by a member of their ward or branch.  Such a novel idea for followup after the meal and activities!!  This should be fun, and we hope we can help others in the stake, who will be here long after we are gone, to be the ministering shepherds.

On our walk this morning we had a beautiful clear sky.  It was dark and in the low 50's, but the stars were jumping right out at us.  My attempt at capturing this in a picture just did not do the morning sky justice!

Two of the brightest lights this morning on our walk.
We are grateful to be here and in the middle of service opportunities.  After-all, that is what missionaries do!

Thank you for joining us tonight!
