July 8, 2015 - Wednesday in Carthage

We had a full day of rain and of humidity mist, while the temperatures did not exceed the very low 60's.  Pretty amazing for this time of year in this part of the country.  Mom and I were up early for our Preparation day.  We had our morning devotional and breakfast and then drove to Nauvoo for the 7:45am weekly training meeting.

The training meeting was centered around the Prophets and the teachings they have given for us in our day.  From the early Prophets and from the various scriptures, and through the Prophets today, we were taught how these last days would begin to come together.  No where does it indicate that the evil designs will ever let up.  But it does outline what the designs will entail, including wicked judges, unrighteous leaders, unflinching efforts to call good evil and evil good, and  people watching these things unfold and not stepping up their efforts to fight for the righteousness of the people.

It was a confirming note to realize that we, as missionaries, are doing the right things at this right time to participate in addressing the evil designs of the wickedness of the people.  We are fully aware that good and righteous families are critical to being in place, no matter how few, to help usher in the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ.  All people are being warned for the last time to get their lives in order.  Families are being counseled to follow the living Prophets and know exactly what to do and being about doing it.  This is such a blessing to have this knowledge and be found following it to the very best of our abilities, and to have our families trying to do there best in this preparation.

For most of us, there are changes that need to be made in how we fulfill and magnify callings, responsibilities and teaching opportunities, but we still can!  Forgiving a neighbor or friend or family member, stepping up our efforts to home teach or visit teach in our wards and branches, being a little kinder to family members and less critical and more supportive toward them is critical to our success for sure.  From what I can see from the reading of the Ensign and listening to the Prophets and Apostles, now is a good time to take a complete inventory of where we stand in what we are doing.  And then have the courage to make those needed changes.  It was a great meeting with lots of eye opening material.

Well, mom and I then went to my rehearsal for the Editor and I got some additional mentoring and we set the first or second week in September for my debut.  The balance of July will be focusing on the huge tour groups coming, and then the month of August will give me extra time to memorize those lines!

We had about 3 hours at home before another trip into Nauvoo for Rendezvous.  Mom and I are putting on about 500 miles each week driving back and forth into Nauvoo.  I know the roads pretty good!  I just hope that I can learn my lines as well.....

We have had a good day off today and we are grateful for your love and support of these two senior missionaries!
