We had a cooling trend this morning as we made ready for our morning walk. The forecast called for rain and thunder storms, but we had a window of opportunity as we began our morning constitutional. The first thing we both noticed was the forming clouds. Take a look;

Although the clouds looked threatening, we were not deterred from our walk. In fact, we added another half mile, since we both had our assignments at different sites for the late shift. It is always interesting to see what morning shows the skies have to offer us each day. It is such a refreshing fun walk and workout with some great enhancements!
We had our morning devotional and prayers first thing this morning. After a day off, it is fun to get back into the swing of things and see what the Lord has in mind for us today. CS Lewis had an interesting thought from his collection of letters published in 1966. Here is one of those quotes:
"We're not doubting that God will do the best for us; we're wondering how painful the best will turn out to be".
Well, certainly we know that the Lord knows who we are, and who we can become, and the experiences we have will help lead us to making the most of the challenges we face. It seems like we have new challenges each day, doesn't it?.... Maybe it is because we passed the challenges we faced yesterday, in an acceptable manner, or that maybe we just need some more preparation experiences to continue our eternal progression. Whatever the case, the Lord has faith that we can do hard things. And we can!
Here are two additional pictures from today. The floating barge on the Mississippi River was huge. We did not see this here yesterday so it came either this morning or overnight. Take a look;
This was not there yesterday - maybe a floating city? |
The approach to our house from the main street through Nauvoo |
And I wanted to show the house we are in, as it is seen, two blocks off of the main Nauvoo street, Mulholland. You can see how we are somewhat away from everyone and how big the yard is. We are so very grateful for being able to have this house the last six months of our mission! The extra bedroom for family is wonderful and we are so looking forward to our family visit June 1st! That whole side yard is begging for a 5th wheel set-up!
Our final activity tonight was the Sunset practice. We are the first cast to perform this outdoor production. We will have the opening night on May 28th. We will be able to have our first performance in front of family on June 2nd! In addition, as any family that has come to see us perform on stage, it is definitely worth the price of admission.... maybe even double the price of admission!
I was talking to a lady I visit teach today and I could've used those thoughts from Cs Lewis and yourself. Funny how that works. Are Bob and Mary bringing a 5th wheel??
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! We are excited! I wish we were bringing a fifth wheel😂
