June 14, 2015 - Sunday

Mom and I were up early this morning getting ready for our 8:00am Sacrament Meeting in Nauvoo when we got a call from Sister Heninger.  She wanted mom to ride with her to Burlington after the Sacrament Meeting to meet her daughter and granddaughter at the train station, and bring them back to Carthage for a visit.  Elder Heninger is not feeling very well and was not able to make the trip.  We are all concerned about his health.  They were able to make the trip safely, even with the delay of the train.

We arrived in Nauvoo about 15 minutes early and enjoyed the prelude music.  Sister Hansen played the organ and young Sister Heninger gave a talk, and young Sister Kupfer and Sister Butler led the music.  That made 4 of 16 Carthage missionaries on the stand this morning.
After our block of meetings, I drove home by myself.  I got a call from mom and she was still in Burlington with Sister Heninger.  The train was delayed a few hours and wasn't rescheduled to arrive until about 2:00pm.  Origionally they were scheduled to arrive in Burlington at around 10:30am.

We had a record number of visitors today at the Carthage jail.  We had 823 visitors in 4.5 hours. Since we had a district meeting tonight at our home, all the young single sisters assigned to Carthage were scheduled in Carthage and that made the day go so smoothly.  As we discussed in our district meeting tonight, I didn't think that there were any dissatisfied guests in our groups today even though it was very busy with larger groups on each tour.

I also got word that Justin Love and Tyler Martin gave their homecoming talks today in the Rigby 10th Ward.  They were among the last missionaries that I sent out two years ago.  Time moves very quickly and I was grateful for the memories of working with these young men.  They both served honorable missions and had a significant impact on the people they came in contact with.
