We had our preparation day today, and that was pretty much filled with activities. We were up early for our devotional and some exercise before we had to leave our home for an early morning training meeting in Nauvoo. This is our weekly Wednesday training meeting that begins at the Nauvoo Visitor's Center at 7:45am and we never want to be late to that meeting that is under the direction of our mission presidency. (We got there at 7:30am)
Then, right after this meeting, we attend the 10:00am temple session at the Nauvoo Temple that is just two blocks from the Nauvoo Visitor's Center. During our training meeting this morning, the mission president asked for anyone that might be going to Quincy today. So Sister Lasher and I got to pick up a wayward piece of luggage there at the Quincy Airport. The Young Performing sister missionaries arrived yesterday and one sister had a lost luggage out of St. Louis, so we went down and got it for her.
These young missionaries will be joining us for summer events beginning this month and they are full of energy and are excited to be here. They added 10% to our total mission population today and there are even more coming in May!
This is a picture of mom waiting for the Rendezvous to begin tonight. We had two performances tonight and it was a little warm and muggy when we began. However, it started cooling down around 8:00pm. Imagine that! Mom was up on stage after 8:00pm tonight and she did a great job! We also became a little better acquainted with Elder and Sister Owen and Claire Speirs. They lived outside of Dillian, Montana, for over 30 years and moved to Vernal, Utah, about four years ago. Jay Nelson, Sherie Tillman's brother, was their Bishop! He spoke highly of Jay and Cheryl! Pass that on to Sherie!
We got home just before 10:00pm tonight so this blog is a little shorter and it is time for some senior rest!! We are trying to stay on a sleep schedule that helps us get up early each day for companion study and exercise.
Thank you for checking in with us tonight. We have had a wonderful day together and we sure miss our family and friends!
WOW! Go Mom!! I'm impressed :)!
