This has been a wonderful day for mom and me. We had the day off from our mission assignments and got to stay home and watch both sessions of General Conference and Music and the Spoken Word.
It was a beautiful day here in Carthage. We were up early and took a long walk around the city and got home by 8:00am to get ready for the day.
As we broke our fast this afternoon, we had one of our favorite meals. I wonder if any of our grandchildren can tell what we had? Cambry, Zac, Isaac, Hayley, Bobby, Callie, Courtney, Cody, Jackson, Jacob, Maddie, Mia, Landon, Anna, Emma, John, Kenzie - Take a look at the entire table and see if you can find these items: peanut butter??, whipped cream??, pancake syrup??, pancakes??
Ok, you guessed it! It is a favorite "Grandpa" breakfast with the grandchildren as well. Only the shape of the pancakes are varied; Mickey Mouse, Minne Mouse, footballs, spiders... you get the idea!
We sure enjoyed the conference sessions and were grateful for President Monson's participation. Every talk was geared to helping us be better members of the church and members of our communities. I have already gone back to review notes and replay talks to help me be a better missionary. We will be back at the Carthage Jail Visitor's Center tomorrow and will look forward to continuing this adventure.
